Youth Alive Uganda

Youth Alive Uganda (YUA) is dedicated to empowering the youth of Uganda (ages 9 - 30) to be resilient and live fulfilling lives. Through their "Establish a Youth HIV Drug Refill & Adherence Hub" project they aim to reestablish specialized community drug delivery hubs in the Lira district of Uganda that were closed due to US foreign assistance cuts. The re-establishment of these drug delivery hubs will preserve access to critical HIV medication for high-risk adolescents living with HIV. YUA also provides nutrition assistance such as maize flour, bean, and groundnuts for vulnerable children living with HIV, ensuring that children are healthy enough for their HIV medication to be effective. YUA also provides home-based case management and caregiver training on nutrition, hygiene, and consistent feeding, resulting in an integrated approach that boosts immunity, supports treatment adherence, and helps children achieve HIV viral suppression.
